Attention Ag Producers!!
Beginning January 1, 2012, if you claim an exemption from sales tax on the purchase of certain items used in the production of agricultural and timber products you will be required to obtain a registration number from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. This registration number must be provided to vendors that provide certain goods and services used in the production of agricultural and timber products, including the electricity used in agriculture or timber operations. We are asking for your cooperation by complying with this law and providing your sales tax exemption number to Lyntegar Electric Cooperative, Inc. prior to January 1, 2012. As of 1/1/2012 your tax exempt certificate that is currently on file with us will no longer be valid, so you must provide us with your new tax exemption number to avoid being taxed on your member accounts.
